Anastasija (engl. Anastacia Lyn Newkirk), rođena u Čikagu 17. septembra 1968. godine, američka je pop pevačica i kantautorka. Veoma je uspešna u Evropi, Severnoj, Južnoj, i Latinskoj Americi, Aziji, Africi i Okeaniji, ali ne u tolikoj meri u SAD-u.

Anastacia je odrasla u Njujorku, u muzičkoj porodici – njen otac je takođe pevač, a majka joj je glumica na Brodveju. Već s 13 godina dijagnostifikovana joj je hronična bolest probavnog sistema, no ona nije dozvolila da je bolest prikuje za krevet i već je u tinejdžerskim godinama profesionalno igrala u popularnoj MTV-evoj emisiji ‚‚Club MTV''. Uskoro se kao igračica pojavila i u videospotovima grupe Salt-N-Pepa ‚‚Everybody Get Up'' i ‚‚Twist and Shout''. Povezana s MTV-jem, Anastacia se 1999. godine javila na njihovo takmičenje talenata, gde je dogurala do samog finala. To takmičenje su pratili i ljudi iz izdavačke kuće Sony, koja joj je odmah ponudila ugovor. To joj je omogućio snimanje debi albuma ‚‚Not That Kind'', koji je objavljen 2000. godine. Rezultat je bio iznenadni globalni uspeh. Album je ušao direktno u Top Ten u osam europskih zemalja i zemalja dalekog istoka, gde se u prvoj nedelji prodao u preko 2 miliona primeraka. Prvi singl ‚‚I'm Outta Love'' postao je globalni dance hit, koji je otvorio vrata za sledeći hit singl ‚‚Not That Kind'' te ‚‚Cowboys And Kisses''.

Godinu dana kasnije Anastacia je bila jedna od najpopularnijih svetskih muzičkih pop zvezda. Drugi muzičari su joj se divili čak i kad ih je pobeđivala na brojnim dodelama prestižnih nagrada. 2001. godine ona je proglašena najboljim novim međunarodnim izvođačem na dodeli ‚‚World Music Awards'' nagrada, te najboljim ženskim Pop izvođačem na europskom MTV-u. 2002. je prihvatila poziv da napiše i otpeva službenu pesmu za Svetsko prvenstvo u fudbalu. Rezultat je bio hit singl pod nazivom ‚‚Boom''. Snaga njenog glasa osvojila je i publiku i kritiku, za što je nagrađena brojnim zlatnim i platinastim pločama iz brojnih zemalja širom sveta. Njeni nastupi na brojnim svetskim muzičkim svečanostima uključivali su pojavljivanje uz velika imena kao što su Luciano Pavoratti, Elton John ili Jay Kay, ali posebno će reći da joj je jedno od najvećih priznanja ipak bio nastup na koncertu ‚‚VH1 Divas Live'' u Las Vegasu, gde je zajedno s Celine Dion izvela pesmu ‚‚You Shook Me All Night Long''.

Njen drugi studijski album ‚‚Freak of Nature'' debitovao je na prvom mestu evropske top liste, a ukupna prodaja njenih albuma popela se na 15 miliona. S albuma su skinuti novi hit singlovi ‚‚Paid My Dues'', ‚‚Why’d You Lie To Me'' i ‚‚One Day In Your Life''.

Anastacia kaže da uči iz životnih lekcija i nedaća, i to je njen moto. ‚‚Moju bolest mnogi vide kao moje prokletstvo, no ja na nju gledam kao na dar. Ona mi je pomogla da otkrijem samu sebe, svoje emocije, i da svaki trenutak proživim do maksimuma.'' Osim hronične bolesti probavnog sistema, Anastacija se izborila i sa rakom dojke.

‚‚Not That Kind'' je Anastasijin debi album. Izdat je u junu 2000. godine, a u SAD godinu kasnije, marta 2001. Saradnici na ovom albumu bili su Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters, Evan Rogers, Carl Sturken, Rik Wake i drugi. Album je ušao u top 10 u osam zemalja u Evropi i Aziji. Četiri puta je dostigao platinasti tiraž u Evropi, a tri puta u Aziji. Njen debitni singl ‚‚I'm Outta Love'' dostigao je prvo mesto na top-listama u Belgiji, Australiji i Novom Zelandu, drugo mesto u Francuskoj, Švajcarskoj, Italiji i Irskoj, a šesto mesto u Nemačkoj i Velikoj Britaniji. U SAD-u je bio sam još jedan radijski hit. Drugi singl ‚‚Not That Kind" zauzeo je 11 mesto u Velikoj Britaniji i ušao u top 10 u Italiji. U Švajcarskoj i Francuskoj je ušao u top 20.

Anastasijin drugi album, ‚‚Freak of Nature'', objavljen je u Evropi u novembru 2001. godine. Veoma uspešno je prodat u Velikoj Britaniji, gde je tri puta dostigao platinasti tiraž, a bio je veoma uspešan i širom Evrope, ali nije dostigao uspeh njenog debitnog albuma. Prvi singl sa ovog albuma, ‚‚Paid My Dues", postao je globalni hit, zauzevši prvo mesto u Danskoj, Italiji, Norveškoj i Švajcarskoj i ušavši u top 10 u još nekim evropskim zemljama. Drugi singl, ‚‚One Day in Your Life", zauzeo je 11 mesto u Velikoj Britaniji i ušao u top 10 u mnogim evropskim zemljama. Sa ovog albuma je objavila još dva singla, ‚‚Why'd You Lie to Me" i ‚‚You'll Never Be Alone", koji nisu dostigli takav uspeh kao prethodna dva singla. Kada je u maju 2000. godine album konačno objavljen i u SAD-u, odlučila je da ga posveti Lisi "Left Eye" Lopes, koja je poginula u saobraćajnoj nesreći mesec dana ranije, a koja je imala veliki uticaj na Anastasijinu karijeru.

‚‚Anastacia'' je naziv njenog trećeg albuma, koji je objavljen u Evropi u martu 2004. godine. Prvi sigl, ‚‚Left Outside Alone", postao je jedna od najpopularnijih pesama u Evropi 2004. godine. Zauzeo je 1. mesto u Austriji, Italiji, Španiji i Švajcarskoj, drugo mesto u Danskoj, Nemačkoj, Irskoj, Holandiji i Norveškoj i treće mesto u Velikoj Britaniji i Mađarskoj. To je i ostao njen najveći hit do danas. Album je postao i ostao njen najuspešniji album, dostigavši tri puta platinasti tiraž u Velikoj Britaniji i ušavši u top 10 u Holandiji, Austraiji, Grčkoj, Nemačkoj i drugim zemljama. Na ovom albumu se nalaze još tri singla koja su postigla internacionalni uspeh: ‚‚Sick and Tired" (koji je dostigao 1. mesto u Španiji i ušao u top 5 singlova u Velikoj Britaniji), ‚‚Welcome to My Truth" (najbolje prodavani singl u Španiji) i balada ‚‚Heavy on My Heart".

Krajem 2005. godine, objavila je prvu kompilaciju najvećih hitova pod nazivom ‚‚Pieces of a Dream''. Album je sadržao singl ‚‚Pieces of a Dream'' koji je dostigao 1. mesto u Španiji i duet sa Erosom Ramacotijem ‚‚I Belong to You (Il Ritmo Della Passione)", koji je zauzeo 1. mesto u Nemačkoj, Mađarskoj, Italiji i Švajcarsoj i postao veliki hit širom kontinentalne Evrope. ‚‚Heavy rotation'' je Anastasijin četvrti studijski album, objavljen u Evropi u oktobru 2008. godine, a u Americi u februaru 2009. Kako kaže Anastasija, naziv albuma ima dubolje značenje - odnosi se na činjenicu da je život jedan kružni tok i da u tom kruženju prolazimo kroz teške trenutke. Prva tri singla, ‚‚I Can Feel You", ‚‚Absolutely Positively" i ‚‚Defeated" nisu dostigla očekivani uspeh. Ovaj album je bio najmanje uspešan od svih dotadašnjih albuma. Singlovi nisu ušli ni u top 40 u Velikoj Britaniji, ali se Anastasija nije obeshrabrila, nalazeći uzrok za to u svetskoj ekonomskoj krizi.

U oktobru 2009. objavila je singl ‚‚Stalemate" sa britanskim bendom Ben's Brother, koji se našao na njihovom albumu ‚‚Battling Giants''. U martu 2010. počela je da snima svoj peti studijski album. U maju 2010. snimila je u Los Anđelesu duet ‚‚Safety" sa ruskim pevačem Dimom Bilanom. U avgustu 2010. pridružila se belgijskoj pevačici Natali-ji Druyts na združenoj turneji u Belgiji pod imenom ‚‚Natalia Meets Anastacia''. U septembru je objavljen njihov duet ‚‚Burning Star''. ‚‚Stalemate", ‚‚Safety" i ‚‚Burning Star'' će se naći na Anastasijinom sledećem albumu, a najavljeno je još singlova pre objavljivanja albuma 2012. godine.
