Guano Apes

Guano Apes je rock grupa koju su u Göttingen-u (Nemačka) osnovali gitarista Henning Rümenapp, basista Stefan Ude i bubnjar Dennis Poschwatta, 1994. godine, dok se pevačica Sandra Nasić pridružila kasnije iste godine. Njihov zvuk je opisivan kao fuzija metala, pop muzike i rep-a, ali je njihova muzika obično označena kao alternativni rock i alternativni metal.

1996. godine pobeđuju na lokalnom muzičkom takmičenju pesmom ‚‚Open Your Eyes”, što je označilo početak njihove karijere. Ova pesma je bila prvi i najuspešniji singl, nakon čega su izdali svoj prvi studijski album ‚‚Proud Like a God”, u oktobru 1997. godine, za izdavačku kuću BMG and GUN/Supersonic Records. Album je dostigao četvrto mesto na top listama u Nemačkoj i platinski tiraž. Nakon izlaska debitantskog albuma usledila je osamnaestomesečna turneja po Evropi i Americi.

U novembru 2000. godine grupa izdaje drugi studijski album ‚‚Don't Give Me Names”, za istu izdavačku kuću kao i prvi. Pesme ‚‚Big in Japan", ‚‚No Speech", ‚‚Living in a Lie" i ‚‚Dödel Up" su izašle kao singlovi. Pesma ‚‚Big in Japan”, obrada pesme grupe Alphaville, i pesma ‚‚No Speech" su veliki broj puta puštane na radio stanicama i album je dostigao zlatni tiraž u Nemačkoj.

Treći studijski album ‚‚Walking on a Thin Line” je izašao u martu 2003. godine, za istu izdavačku kuću. Dostigao je prvo mesto na listama najboljih albuma te godine u Nemačkoj. Na albumu su se posebno istakle pesme ‚‚You Can't Stop Me", ‚‚Pretty in Scarlet" i ‚‚Quietly". Godinu kasnije, 2004. izlazi album ‚‚Planet Of The Apes", dvostruki album, sa njihovim najvećim hitovima.
Nakon finalne turneje u februaru 2005. godine grupa je napravila prekid u radu sa neodređenim trajanjem. Kompilacijski album ‚‚Lost (T)Apes" izlazi 2006. godine, a na njemu se nalaze neobjavljene pesme koje su snimljene tokom 1994. i 1995. godine.

Sandra kreće u solo vode i u oktobru 2007. godine izdaje samostalni album ‚‚The Signal", Henning je odlučio raditi iza scene, Dennis je osnovao novi bend Tamoto u kome ne svira bubnjeve već peva i svira gitaru, dok se o Stefanu jedino zna da je učestvovao u stvaranju debitantskog albuma benda Tamoto. Henning, Dennis i Stefan su 2006. godine osnovali novi bend IO zajedno sa američkim pevačem Charles Simmons-om. Bend je išao na turneje nekoliko puta i izdali su debitantski album ‚‚For the Masses” u avgustu 2008. godine, ali je promocija stavljena na čekanje zbog najavljenog ponovnog okupljanja grupe Guano Apes 2009. godine.

2009. godine članovi grupe su se ponovo sastali i održali seriju koncerata u Evropi. Te godine su objavili da rade na novom albumu. U aprilu 2011. godine su izdali četvrti studijski album ‚‚Bel Air”, za izdavačku kuću Columbia, Europe. Sa ovog albuma su se posebno izdvojila četiri singla : ‚‚Oh, What a Night", ‚‚Sunday Lover", ‚‚This Time" i ‚‚When the Ships Arrive".
