Iron Maiden je engleski hevi metal bend iz Lejtona (Istočni London). Bend je osnovao 1975. godine njegov basista i glavni tekstopisac Stiv Haris. Od svog osnivanja, bend je izdao trideset četiri albuma: šesnaest studijskih albuma, jedanaest albuma s koncerata, četiri maksi-singlova i šest kompilacija.
Kao pionir Novog talasa britanskog hevi metala, Iron Maiden je postigao svetski uspeh tokom osamdesetih godina dvadesetog veka. Posle nekoliko promena postava, bend je počeo da prodaje seriju platininastih i zlatnih albuma. Ovo uključuje i albume The Number of the Beast iz 1982, Piece of Mind iz 1983, Powerslave iz 1984, video album Live After Death iz 1985, Somewhere in Time iz 1986, i Seventh Son of a Seventh Son iz 1988. koji su u SAD dobili platinasti tiraž. Bend je trenutno u procesu oživljavanja popularnosti, sa njihovim albumom A Matter of Life and Death iz 2006. koji je dostigao deveto mesto na Billboard 200 listi i četvrto mesto na listi UK-a. Album The Final Frontier je izdat širom sveta 16. i 17. avgusta 2010. godine, dostignuvši prvo mesto u 40 različitih zemalja i dobivši uglavnom pozitivne kritike. Smatraju ih za jedan od najboljih hevi metal bendova, jer su navodno prodali preko 100 miliona albuma širom sveta uz malu radijsku i televizijsku podršku. Bend je dobio Ajvor Novelo nagradu za internacionalno dostignuće 2002. godine.
Skoro od osnivanja, bend prati njihova maskota Edi. Edi se pojavio na skoro svim njihovim omotima albuma i singlova, kao i na koncertima.

Volim Maidene. Jedan od rijetkih heavy metal bendova koji je poznat i široj publici, tj. onima koji inače ne slušaju metal. Ne mogu se nazvati velikom obožavateljicom, ali znam dosta pjesama, posebno one iz osamdesetih jer sam upravo slušajući te albume otkrivala čari metal muzike.
Jedna od najdražih pjesama mi je Wasting Love koja me podsjeti na brata svaki put kad ju čujem, jer ju je često znao svirati na gitari.

Novi album Maidena je odličan. Bukvalno je svaka pesma dobra na svoj način. Najviše me oduševila naslovna numer, The Book of Souls.

Infinite Dreams
Infinite dreams I can't deny them
Infinity is hard to comprehend
I couldn't hear those screams
Even in my wildest dreams
Suffocation waking in a sweat
Scared to fall asleep again
In case the dream begins again
Someone chasing I cannot move
Standing rigid a nightmare's statue
What a dream when will it end
And will it transcend?
Restless sleep the minds in turmoil
One nightmare ends another fertile
It's getting to me so scared to sleep
But scared to wake now, in too deep.
Even though it's reached new heights
I'd rather like the restless nights
It makes me wonder it makes me think
There's more to this I'm on the brink
It's not the fear of what's beyond
It's just that I might not respond
I have an interest almost craving
But would I like to get too far in?
Can't all be coincidence
Too many things are evident
You tell me you're an unbeliever
